Job Title: Human Resource Operations Technician
The Virginia Community College System (VCCS) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resource Operations Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Shared Services Center, you will play a critical role in supporting the success of our students by providing exceptional HR support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for human resource management functions, including onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Execute and ensure accurate data maintenance in multiple HRIS systems and documented reporting.
- Collaborate with HR Operations Supervisor to achieve strategic objectives and improve backroom process efficiency.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of state and federal employment practices and regulations.
- Utilize process improvement techniques to streamline HR operations and enhance customer service.
Requirements:
- Basic math, professional telephone etiquette, and standard business communications skills.
- Computer systems, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office program proficiency.
- Knowledge of state and federal employment practices and regulations.
- Experience with MS Office, including Excel.
- Customer service experience and data entry skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with State and Federal laws related to employment.
- Experience with DHRM employment policies and procedures.
- Shared services or call center experience.
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Process improvement experience.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- PHR, SPHR, and/or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification.
