Job Description :
This position is required for accreditation. CAAHEP standard III B.2 necessitates an operational medical director to maintain accreditation for an EMS program. This role provides medical oversight of the Laurel Ridge EMS program. Duties include but are not limited to :
- Review and approve the educational content of the program for appropriateness, medical accuracy, and reflection of evidence-informed prehospital practice.
- Review and approve minimum numbers of patient contacts and standards.
- Review and approve the process used to evaluate students in didactic, laboratory, clinical, and field internship.
- Review students’ progress and determine appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure competence of each graduate in all domains.
- Engage in cooperative involvement with program director and educational interaction of physicians with students.

Required Travel : Travel as per any required duties of the position, such as to sites / campuses and any training. Ability to cover assignments throughout the college service region as necessary for the job is required.
Special Assignments : May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
