What Youll Do :
Prescribe medications in line with standard care, seeking approval for exceptions.
Obtain informed consent or judicial authorization for treatment.
Monitor and address medication side effects; report adverse reactions.
Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Involve CSB and family in discharge planning when possible.
Ensure timely patient discharge progress.
Arrange coverage and complete documentation before time off.
Participate in on-call coverage, ensuring timely treatment and documentation.
Lead the treatment team, ensuring collaboration across disciplines.
Monitor and reduce seclusion / restraint use; follow hospital policies.
Participate in performance improvement projects and committees.
Maintain VA medical license and DEA registration, complete CME credits.
Attend at least 50% of Med Staff and committee meetings.
Complete annual mandatory training and adhere to hospital policies.
Provide preceptorship to students and residents as needed.
Support EHR transition, including testing, training, and rollout.
Assist in developing EHR-related policies and procedures.
Lead EHR training sessions for staff and new hires.
Minimum Qualifications :
Current VA Medical License and DEA Registration.
Commitment to leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Experience in psychiatric treatment and patient care management.
Strong communication and training skills, especially with EHR systems.
