The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking a qualified candidate to provide technical and administrative support to the Manager of the Office of Ecology and Chesapeake Bay Program Manager, especially in the management of three important Federal grants that support Virginia’s Chesapeake Bay Program and Watershed Implementation Plan: (1) Chesapeake Bay Implementation Grant (CBIG), (2) Chesapeake Bay Regulatory and Accountability Program (CBRAP), and (3) Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of and experience in grant and contract management, workplan/budget development, and project coordination.
- Knowledge of environmental programs, especially related to water quality.
- Proficient computer database operations (e.g., MS Excel/) and word processing (e.g., MS Word)
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Combination of education, experience, or training in biology, chemistry, engineering, natural and/or physical science or a related field which provides an advanced understanding of the knowledge, skills, and competencies for the position.
- Experience in grant and contract management/administration, deliverable and financial tracking and progress reporting.
- Proficient in the use of the eVA platform for requisitioning and receiving
