The Henrico Health District is currently seeking a Public Health Nurse. PHNs independently provides professional nursing care to patients in clinics, homes and schools and other community or congregate care settings. Performs nursing assessments, may perform lab tests, take measurements, develop, and implement care plans, including the administration of medication and case management. Participates in public health emergencies and community health assessments. Actions performed at this level require licensure as a RN by state code. May supervise support staff. Travel and some weekend and/or evening hours may be required.
This PH Nurse's primary program areas will be Immunization, Family Planning, STI, Newcomer Health, Communicable Disease Case Management. This position will primarily work out of our West Henrico Health Clinic (8600 Dixon Powers Drive) but may be expected to work from any other location in the community as needed. Standard work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (occasional evening and weekend hours based on community events). Mileage reimbursement is available for any work-related travel. Parking at each of HCHD's offices is free of charge and hassle free!
