Adjunct Biology Instructor
Job Summary:
The Virginia Military Institute's Biology Department is seeking a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach introductory biology courses in-person. The successful candidate will serve under a renewable contract and have the opportunity to teach upper-level courses in their specialty.Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Core Curriculum introductory biology courses with class sizes of 16-24 cadets.
- Develop and implement curriculum for teaching laboratories.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the growth and development of the Biology Department.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or at least 18 graduate hours in the biological sciences or a related field.
- Preferred: Teaching experience at the college level.
Working Conditions:
This is a non-tenure track, part-time position with a variable workload. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision. Full-time faculty at VMI wear uniforms and adhere to military customs, but adjunct instructors are not required. Military experience is not required.What We Offer:
