Job Duties
Sign-on Bonus : Candidates are eligible for sign-on bonus Up to a $15,000 that are new to state service and remain with the facility for 2 years.
- 15,000 sign on bonus will be awarded to new hires to state service with a one-year written agreement required.
Loan Repayment : Candidates are also eligible for loan repayment program! Must meet all the eligibility requirements in order to receive loan repayment
Who We Are :
Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA) is the state psychiatric hospitals operating since 1975 under Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services and provides treatment through multidisciplinary teams of child psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nurses, social workers, activities therapists, teachers and behaviorally trained direct care staff. Individual treatment plans are developed for each child.
The programs provide for a full range of individual, group, family, milieu, and medication modalities for stabilization and resumption of effective functioning.
CCCA 48-bed is a Joint Commission accredited facility located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley within 30 minutes of major university towns and is affiliated with the University of Virginia-Department of Psychiatric Medicine and provides a training ground for professionals from other colleges and universities in the fields of nursing, social work, psychology, and activities therapy.
Purpose of position
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate and experienced individual as a Medical Director to lead the team of psychiatrist, primary care providers and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners.
Purpose of this position is to serves as Chief Medical Officer of the hospital providing leadership, direction, management, and supervision of the activities of the Medical Staff and hospital clinical program development including facility-wide medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial programming activities to ensure appropriateness for patient population. Provides leadership to the Medical Staff including the planning, implementing, and monitoring psychiatric services. Advises Hospital Chief Executive Officer on clinical and administrative matters, particularly the psychiatric aspects of patient management, quality of care, and risk management issues. Provides direct patient care to assigned patients such assignments being an exercise of the Office of the Medical Director.
