Job Duties
Visitor Services Technician Senior will serve as one of four classified staff for Visitor Services at Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. Responsible for assisting the Visitor Services Manager in the efficient daily operations of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Visitor Services department at both living history museums. Duties may include overseeing of day-to-day operations, to including completing department specific opening / closing procedures, developing daily staffing rotations, submitting daily financial reports, and preparing nightly deposits. Responsible for providing superior, quality customer service while processing admission sales for individual visitors and groups along with providing general information about the museum exhibits and area attractions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Exceptional customer service and sales experience.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills with the ability to relate to diverse audiences and staff (age, abilities, cultures, etc.).
- Demonstrated skill in presenting information and facilitating positive dialogue with the public.
- Knowledge of and experience with cash handling procedures and accounting practices in medium to large scale transaction volume environments.
- Demonstrated competency with point-of-sale systems and related software for reporting and accounting.
- Willing to learn and understand history.

Prior experience working in a museum or retail setting.
