Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Taxation seeks an Assistant Disclosure Officer in the Office of Tax Policy and Legal Affairs to assist the Agency’s Disclosure Officer in developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with Agency and federal safeguard requirements and guidelines by Virginia Tax, Virginia Tax employees, contractors, and other government offices that have access to confidential tax records maintained by Virginia Tax.
This role will play an integral role in the Disclosure Office’s responsibility of overseeing the safeguarding of federal and state taxpayer information maintained by Virginia Tax, including ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws, regulations and requirements regarding (a) the release or sharing of such information, (b) controls and procedures regarding the protection of such information, and (c) all state and federal notification and reporting requirements.
This position is located in our Central Office in downtown Richmond, Virginia.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule once fully trained.
The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience, up to $100,000.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and requirements regarding the safeguarding and disclosure of state and federal tax information or other sensitive or confidential information
Knowledge of and experience with investigative and analytical techniques
Proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office Applications
Experience with policy, regulations, and legal research
Proven record of working with all levels of management to resolve issues and reach an appropriate solution
Additional Considerations
Ability to communicate effectively
Proven ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
Experience with creating reports
