The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services’ (DBHDS) Office of Licensing (OL) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the Incident Management (IM) Manager. This position is responsible for applying consistent statewide criteria to triage all serious incidents by level of severity and following up on submitted incident data to identify issues requiring immediate state-level intervention. The position is responsible for managing the IMU workflow process in the licensing system (CONNECT) and ensuring implementation of internal protocols. Specific duties include supervising and managing activities of the statewide IMU team; prioritizing review of incidents based on established criteria, ensuring staff are following up on those of potential concern; providing training and technical assistance to providers and OL staff related to the IMU process; ensuring clear communication between the IM team, specialists, investigators, and other offices such as the Office of Human Rights and the Office of Integrated Health; conducting risk management and quality improvement activities under the direction of the Director to ensure the OL is meeting established outcomes within the assigned timeframes.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience in clinical, administrative, management and quality assurance. Experience supervising and training staff and managing projects. Knowledge of the principles and practices of root cause analysis, risk management and continuous quality improvement. Advanced analytical skills necessary to work with aggregated information. Ability to multi-task, implement directives, and convene and conduct meetings. Ability to facilitate organizational change while maintaining positive and forward thinking behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the Department and internal operations, particularly knowledge of the critical incident management system and the OL information system as well as knowledge of licensing regulations and the principles of incident management is preferred. Master’s Degree and Licensure in a healthcare profession is strongly preferred.
