Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) is on the hunt for a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Marketing to steer the ship for the legendary “Virginia is for Lovers” brand. Key Responsibilities:

Strategy, Vision & Purpose: Develop and execute a cutting-edge strategic, integrated marketing approach that propels the Virginia is for Lovers brand into the hearts of audiences worldwide.

Team Leadership: Inspire and lead a multi-discipline internal team of talented content creators, brand ambassadors, digital directors, public relations strategists, sponsorship experts, and an in-house design team. In this role, you will orchestrate a cohesive symphony of creativity and strategy, elevating Virginia is for Lovers to new heights in the tourism marketplace.

As a member of the VTC Executive Committee, you will advocate a culture of creativity, accountability, and excellence.

Agency Partnerships: Collaborate with top-tier advertising and media buying agencies to spearhead compelling campaigns that deliver measurable results. Your knack for building strong teams will be crucial to marketing success.

Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage and research to shape marketing strategies, ensuring tactics are intentional and results-driven. Proficiency in data interpretation will drive smarter marketing investments.

Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate robust relationships with industry stakeholders, ensuring alignment and synergy in promoting Virginia as a premier travel destination. Must have an ability to listen and integrate diverse perspectives ensuring collaboration and innovation. 

Job Qualifications:

  • Extensive Tourism Marketing Experience: Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing innovative tourism marketing campaigns that generate measurable results.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Considerable proven ability to lead a diverse team, providing clear direction, cultivating talent, and driving performance excellence.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong experience in using marketing research, analytics, and performance data to guide strategic decisions.
  • Budget Expertise: Deep experience in budget management, with a track record of maximizing impact through careful planning and allocation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Virginia’s tourism products, markets, and competitive landscape, as well as a thorough knowledge of best practices.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in integrated communications marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
