Job Duties
**This posting is open to current employees of the Virginia Employment Commission. Contract employees are ineligible.**
Working in a fast paced call center environment, professionally and efficiently respond to phone calls, faxes, mail and emails from claimants, employers and staff.
Utilize appropriate systems and training to ensure claims are taken and information is gathered to ensure the agency first pay and timeliness goals are met and benefits are paid timely.
Provide assistance to supervisors with performing call center duties, handling escalated call and claim issue resolution, providing administrative support and assistance and training to staff, and lending support during absences.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of claims processing, office operations and telephone etiquette.
Strong customer service, oral and written and communication, interpersonal, organizational, and data entry skills.
Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into automated systems; interpret, apply, and explain agency program standards and applicable laws; provide supplemental support to supervisor and mentoring to staff; sit for long periods of time while responding to difficult customer service calls; and work in a tightly scheduled call center environment.
Additional Considerations
Knowledge of the UI Benefits program.
Experience working in a call center environment serving as a lead, providing customer service, conducting interviews, and/or processing claims.
