What are the responsibilities and job description for the Imaging Tech position at Virginia Eye Institute?
Virginia Eye Institute is searching for an Ophthalmic Imager to add to our practice. This position will be responsible for the technical support of physicians and sub-specialists in Ophthalmology. This includes various tests such as angiographic and photographic test to be performed, as well as patient interaction under the direct supervision of the imaging manager and physicians.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs delegated procedures common to the specialty area in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. Procedures may include the follow:
a. Fundus, anterior segment and external photography
b. Cataract surgery imaging (e.g., IOL Master, Topography, Pentacam)
c. Scanning Computerized Ophthalmic Diagnostic Imaging (e.g., OCT)
d. Visual Field examination
2. Room preparation and equipment maintenance, laboratory stock and cleaning
3. Maintain records of work performed, with appropriate level of detail and accuracy
4. Functions as an integral part of the patient care team and promotes patient satisfaction by interacting with patients in a professional, friendly manner
5. Performance and documentation requirements per the physician expectations and special testing
6. Other duties as assigned as assigned by the Physician, Supervisor, or Manager
Position Requirements:
- CRA/OCT-C certification preferred, or desire to obtain
- Knowledge of ophthalmic imaging performed (Color fundus photos, OCT, Visual Fields)
