Essential Duties and Qualifications
The Resident Care Assistant has the following responsibilities:
- Maintains resident rooms and nursing unit in accordance with infection control standards.
- Maintains confidentiality of all resident information.
- Complies with established policies and procedures.
- Provides a comfortable, clean and safe environment for residents and assures that Residents' Rights are honored and protected.
- Works with the interdisciplinary team to assist in achieving planned resident goals.
- Participates in orientation and in-service education programs
- Assumes duties at any Virginia Health Services unit/facility as required.
- Understands the function of the VHS Compliance Program, HIPAA Regulations and Privacy Policy as outlined in the employee handbook.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Gerontological experience preferred.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
