Responsibilities: The Advancement & Marketing Specialist is a full-time position reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. Responsible for coordinating and assisting with the implementation of a range of creative and technical marketing/communications activities that support the VHCC brand and engage constituents of the College, including:
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage VHCC alumni engagement program.
- Manage the VHCC Retiree Association and the VHCC Discount Program.
- Assist in managing the Student Emergency Assistance Program.
- Assist with planning & executing special events.
- Manage event and hospitality resource assets.
- Assist with the implementation of a comprehensive resource development program, including fundraising campaign support, collateral design/production, constituent engagement, and donor stewardship (gift & pledge allocations and acknowledgements).
- Assist with marketing and communications activities, including: creative design, production support, digital screen and marquee management, photography/videography, and other key marketing/communication support activities.
- Support the Institutional Advancement Division with budget management, purchasing, and receiving.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty & staff and other stakeholders important to the college.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
This is a full-time in-person position.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- A minimum of education and/or experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Administrative Support, Marketing or related field required.
- Experience in customer service, administrative support, fundraising, and/or marketing/sales, required.
- Successful history of professional achievement related to the duties and responsibilities specified. A portfolio of work and project examples will be requested of all finalists.
- Previous experience with database systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; exceptional organizational abilities with fluency in managing multiple projects and competing priorities with professionalism and grace.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing including proper use of grammar, spelling, punctuation, editing and proof reading; demonstrate emotional intelligence and situational awareness with wide variety of college constituents.
- Seasoned in project and budget management.
- Background and skills in developing simple marketing collateral.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and savvy in quickly learning various applications and databases for accomplishing various tasks and projects.
- Background in photography and videography preferred.
- Maintain a high level of ethics and confidentiality in performance of all job duties
- Learn and apply college policies/procedures as well as adhere to the Donor Bill of Rights
- Learn and maintain proficiency in state computer systems and programs.
