Job Description
Purpose & Scope :
Responsible for managing the Accession, Venipuncture, Courier and Reports Secretary personnel including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and in-servicing. Also responsible for departments adherence to all billing and coding compliance policies and CMS Federal Regulations. Responsible for functions and operations of the Accession Area and Venipuncture for all shifts. In addition, duties include management of Client Services for the Reference Laboratory. This includes the Courier Service, report generation, supply needs and telephoning and faxing functions. Additional duties include monitoring all coding functions including CPT and ICD coding. Other responsibilities include monitoring up-to-date insurance information for the Departments
Education :
High school diploma is preferred.
Experience :
Five years of healthcare / medical - phlebotomy experience is required.
Experience in micro techniques is preferred.
Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
Certification / Licensure :
BLS certification is required.
