This important role will be responsible for overseeing the operation of Virginia Housing’s single-family mortgage originations quality control plan. Our ideal candidate is a results-oriented professional with quality control experience and deep knowledge of the mortgage originations process and regulatory environment. Responsibilities will include (i) overseeing the single-family mortgage originations quality control plan; (ii) managing the contractual relationship with our outside quality control vendor; (iii) working with the outside quality control vendor to ensure loan-level file reviews are completed in a timely manner; (iv) reviewing initial quality control findings from the vendor; (v) working with Homeownership management and staff to rebut or mitigate quality control findings from the vendor; (vi) implementing action plans to ensure quality control findings do not re-occur; (vii) disseminating monthly quality control reports to management; (viii) keeping the single-family mortgage originations quality control plan up-to-date; and (ix) staying abreast of changes to federal and state mortgage laws and regulations, including RESPA, TILA, Reg. X, Reg. Z, etc., as well as changes to Virginia Housing, FHA, VA, RHS, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae programmatic guidelines.
To be successful in this role you must possess :
Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or equivalent professional experience.
Virginia Housing requires associates to live and work within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
We have a hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
This position will close at midnight on March 23, 2025.
Hiring Range: $80,768 - $104,996
A background check will be performed as a condition of employment.

- Few years of quality control and/or compliance experience.
- Knowledge of the mortgage originations process and regulatory environment.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment and be able to work effectively under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. Must have demonstrated the highest ethical standards and integrity.
- Must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Few years of mortgage originations experience.
- Mortgage underwriting and/or processing experience would be a plus.
