The Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services is currently seeking an Information Technology Specialist. This position is within the Information Technology Division (ITD) and provides information technology services to the functional programs of the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). In addition, via memorandum of agreement (MOA), ITD provides technology services to the Disability Services Agencies (DSA), which include the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC), Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI), the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired (VRCBVI), the Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH), and the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities (VBPD).
These technology services are provided in support of the DSA's strategic goals, objectives, and initiatives. These services include Applications Development and Management, Engineering Technology and Infrastructure Support, and VITA and Cloud Technologies Support.
The position will consult, design, develop and maintain applications to meet user requirements towards developing systems and applications for the DSA. The position reports to the DSA IT Lead Developer and assists the DSA IT Lead Developer with implementing and managing the applications and systems development activities for the Information Technology Division (ITD).
The position establishes current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies, working collaboratively with the DSA IT Lead Developer to ensure applications and systems development support is equipped to carry out DSA strategic objectives and initiatives.
The position ensures compliance with the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) and other stakeholders' standards, policies, and guidelines; compliance with state and federal statues governing the collection and security of DSA data and the administration of IT systems and applications.
This position will be based out of the DARS Headquarters building in Henrico, VA.
Minimum Qualifications :
Training in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, a Computer Science related field, or equivalent experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, ASP.NET Core, Source Control, Visual Studio 2019 or higher, SQL Server Database and T-SQL, MS Office Suite and Windows OS.
