General Information :
James Madison University's Athletics Department is accepting applications for an Associate Director of Video Services to join the Creative Services team. This position reports to the Director of Video Services. Our team is looking for candidates with strong video skills and a desire to grow in the creative video field. Video content will highlight the student-athlete experience at James Madison University and other aspects of 18 varsity sport programs and athletics facilities. An online portfolio is required for consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :
- Coordinate, produce and deliver creative video content that is consistent with the JMU Athletics brand, aligned with department goals and targeted to inspire all constituents to more deeply engage and invest in the athletics department and university
- Serve as a videographer on the creative services team, capture and create content for all 18 varsity sport programs to be used for athletics stories, social media and video board content.
- Supervise, recruit and retain all student staff (paid, practicum / internship, volunteers)
- Maintain relationship with JMU's School of Media Arts and Design to encourage involvement within student team.
- Help assign staff to event coverage schedule for all athletic home events, special events within Athletics and other events as assigned.
- Help with equipment inventory and uphold organizational standards of the video server and corresponding digital tools, video archives and other video resources.
- Collaborate with other members of the creative services team or other external areas to ensure video needs are met across the Athletics Department.
