Brightpoint Library is seeking to fill a Library Assistant position. Library Assistants, under the supervision of the Library Director, work directly with students, faculty and staff to provide information services. Assistants perform a combination of these duties : staff the in-person and virtual Information Desk; respond to patron queries that include use of library and other information resources; navigate common software platforms; troubleshoot computers and equipment; process interlibrary loans; assist with student orientation and engagement activities for the library; and assist with library promotional activities. Library Assistants may be assigned to the Chester Campus or Midlothian Campus; 20-29 hours per week; schedule may include day and / or evening hours.
Minimum Qualifications :
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a highly technological and team-oriented environment. Both flexibility and ability to adapt to ongoing change. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check.Additional Considerations :
Experience in a library, museum, archive or bookstore. Experience using online resources such as e-books, databases, social media and streaming video. Familiarity with Google Suite, MS Office, Teams and Zoom.
