The Role.
The Institute (BI) is seeking motivated, enthusiastic, self-driven candidates for Postdoctoral Research Associate positions. This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule with a combination of in office and remote work.
Postdoctoral Research Associates will join the Contagion Science Program, a prestigious strategic research initiative funded by the University of Virginia through its Prominence-to-Preeminence STEM Targeted Initiatives Fund. Incumbents will have a unique opportunity to explore the application of computing and data sciences at the interfaces of computational modeling, public health, medicine, biology, and social sciences.

Responsibilities and Duties.
Responsibilities of the new Contagion Science team members include but are not limited
- In alignment with the candidate's specialization and skills, support ongoing research contracts / grants. Our work is sponsored by a variety of federal sponsors including NIH, NSF, DoD, and others.
- Participate in unique learning and professional development experiences including the creation of themes for the research roadmap, participation in proposal writing team-efforts.
- Contribute to the creation and promulgation of a research roadmap that leverages new and existing theoretical frameworks, engineering techniques, and data science tools.
- Support the organization of workshops and other program relevant meetings.

This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance. This is a one-year appointment; however, appointment may be renewed for an additional two, one-year increments, contingent upon satisfactory performance, continued available funding, and business need.
