What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Virginia Marble Manufacturers, Inc.?
The Plant Supervisor works directly with and under the Plant Manager. The Plant Supervisor is classified as a group leader and is responsible for the plant operation in the event the Plant Manager is absent.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Report any issues immediately to the Plant Manager. Keep an open line of communication with all supervision to make sure the production process flows smoothly.
· Lead in training of new employees
· Ensure supervised area is fully staffed and employees have all materials needed to perform the job asked of them.
· Strive for 100% safety in the work area. Ensure employees are wearing all required PPE.
· Strive for 100% quality to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Make sure the employees are ready to start the shift promptly and on time. Ensure the employees follow policy and adhere to set timelines.
· Encourage and coach the employees every day, keep an open line of communication with them to promote a healthy and non-violent work environment.
· Maximize daily production and minimize scrap.
· Continue to build your knowledge of the cultured marble process and share information with your coworkers so that we all can succeed and meet production goals.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
· Open the plant in the morning
· Monitor temperatures in the building to keep steady flow of production and avoid any issues with cure rates.
· Ensure we are following all guidelines for hazardous materials, monitor this closely to avoid personal injury and violations.
· Monitor tickets and inventory of molds. (Only to be done before the start and after the end of the shift.)
· Ensure all trash is removed from the building throughout the day.
