What you will do in this role :
Assumes responsibility and accountability as indicated for the care of thosepatients being treated by Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants,rehabilitation technicians and occupational therapy students. May be assignedto orient staff and students and assume the duties and responsibilities of thesupervisor in the absence of that individual as qualified to do so
Assesses patients’ needs; identifies and initiates appropriate occupationaltherapy interventions; works cooperatively with other patient team personnelin maintaining standards for professional occupational therapy practice andinterdisciplinary teamwork
Observes and evaluates treatment affect, accomplishment of short and longterm goals. Recommends change to physician, if needed
Performs an appropriate assessment on each patient and performsreassessments, as per policy. Performs accurate and timely QI scoring. Thepopulation is adult and geriatric patients requiring an adult medicalrehabilitation program and services
Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function ofparticipation in rehabilitation; makes appropriate interventions to reducepain; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizespatient safety and reduces the likelihood of medicalhealth care errors
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state where thehospital is located
Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred, butnot required
Effective oral and written communication skills in English with additionallanguages preferred
Current CPRBLS certificationSalary range : $50 per hour. We would expect those hired into this job would bepaid within this hourly rate, however, certain circumstances may allow us topay outside of this hourly rate.
