As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute and emergent medical conditions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Our Emergency Department is designated and certified as a Primary Stroke Center. Along with our outstanding cardiac care services, our patients have shorter wait times than both the national average and WA State average (according to "medicare data. We have 22 ED beds and see an average of 80 patients per day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical and traumatic injuries.
- Perform rapid and accurate assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Initiate and administer emergency treatments and medications as ordered by physicians.
- Provide advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), basic life support (BLS), and other advanced life support interventions as needed.
- Manage and prioritize multiple patients simultaneously in a high-stress environment.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including charting, documentation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of electronic health records (EHR) and other medical equipment.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and code blue events.
- Triage patients based on acuity and prioritize care accordingly.
- Administer intravenous fluids, medications, and blood products as ordered.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and other procedures as needed.
- Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment plan, and discharge instructions.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Maintain current knowledge of emergency nursing practices and advancements.
Qualifications
We require:
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Physical capability to lift and transfer patients safely.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements

Pay Range
$45.75 - $77.27 /hour
Salary : $46 - $77
