Description
This position is responsible for:
- Leadership of clinical staff - the ongoing supervision, evaluation, and scheduling of nursing and personal care staff.
- Clinical Oversite and patient care - Responsible for providing oversight of quality clinical care outcomes for both short-term stay patients and long-term stay residents. Oversee patient care activities to ensure quality standards, safety protocols, and best practices are met.
- Risk and Safety—Oversee risk management processes and practices, identifying and addressing potential risks to patient/resident and staff safety. Assist with the implementation of infection control measures and antibiotic stewardship. Participate in corrective actions.
- Recruiting and retention—Responsibilities also include participating in the hiring, onboarding/orientation, and training coordination of clinical staff.
- Policy development and implementation - Effectively collaborates with Supportive Living leadership to ensure that systems, policies, and programs are enhanced and developed to ensure high-quality care. Review policies to reflect changes related to care needs and regulatory changes.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration—The team works closely with providers, therapists, and administrative staff and collaboratively with the Supportive Living service line to establish system delivery that supports VMRC's mission, vision, values, and philosophy.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Monitors spending and looks for cost-effective solutions that do not compromise quality of care or resident satisfaction.
- Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance—Ensures nursing operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and facility policies. Monitors compliance with regulations and quality measures and actively participates in the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement team.

The compensation for this Salaried Leadership Position is based on previous work experiences and qualifications.

Requirements
You Must Be:
A registered nurse (RN) is currently licensed to practice nursing in Virginia (BSN preferred). Two years of clinical and/or supervisory experience required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with the supervisor, physicians, employees, families, and the public. Must effectively lead, supervise, guide, and support personal care staff. Must be knowledgeable and passionate in geriatrics, long-term care, and skilled care. Must possess computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) for operations, report generation, and presentations. Must possess a command of the English language, both written and spoken. Must be self-motivated, organized, and flexible to accommodate changing priorities. Proven ability to work independently and in a team-based environment with minimal supervision.
