This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and supervision of members and guests in the aquatics area of VMRC's Wellness Center.
Based upon previous qualifications and experiences, the starting base rate of pay is $15.45 - $20.30 per hour.
Work Schedule:
- Based upon staffing needs and selected candidate's availability
- Potential hours are 3-4 hour shifts, scheduled between 5:45am - 7:00pm, weekdays; and 6:45am - 3:30pm, Saturdays
- Average of 12-20 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks)
- Not eligible for benefits
Requirements
As a condition for employment, VMRC requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. If selected for a pending job offer, the candidate will be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination(s) or provide proof of prior COVID-19 vaccination(s) before the date of hire.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Experience as a pool lifeguard in a hospital, recreational or commercial fitness facility preferred.
- Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard AED/CPR/First Aid certification.
- Possess a command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service with a friendly, outgoing, and customer-service oriented approach
- Ability to work closely with the senior population in a calm, cooperative, respectful, and professional manner.
- Self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Fluency in a second language is a plus
Salary : $15 - $20
