This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service in person and over the phone at the front desk in Residential Living. Responsibilities include answering the phone, providing clerical assistance as requested by staff, sorting and distributing mail, handling and reconciling cash transactions, testing the Emergency Call System (ECS), and making guest room reservations. This position also provides emergency assistance with respect to medical, security, and maintenance issues such as fire alarms, resident lock-outs, reporting suspicious activity, and contacting/facilitating rescue squad or other emergency services to the Residential Living facilities.
Work Schedule:
- 4:30pm - 8:30pm, 1 weekday evening per week
- 8:00am - 2:30pm or 1:45pm-8:30pm, Saturday/Sunday rotation (2 out of every 5 weekends, typically)
- 4:00pm - 5:00pm, 1st Monday per month (mandatory staff meeting)
- Approximately 20-22 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks)
- Not eligible for benefits
Based upon previous qualifications and experiences, the starting rate of pay is $13.10- $17.03 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with ability to complete basic clerical tasks.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a clerical, secretarial, or administrative position (experience working with older adults preferred).
- Able to understand and carry out oral and written assignments using the English language.
- Computer experience with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Highly organized with ability to maintain a high level of accuracy; detail focused.
- Able to provide outstanding customer service using a friendly, outgoing, and customer-first approach in person and by phone.
- A self-starter with the ability to perform the duties listed in the job description independently with limited supervision.
- A pleasant personality and be able to work closely with staff, residents, families, and guests in a calm, cooperative, respectful, and professional manner.
