Job Duties
Position Responsibilities:
- Prepares the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Annual Update.
- Leads the Comprehensive Facilities Master Plan update on all VMI owned properties.
- Serves on selection committees for design and construction services as directed.
- Works with the other members of the Facilities Management staff to continue development, implementation, and periodic updating of the Institute’s Design Guide.
- Assists in the preparation of the non-capital projects planning, prioritization, and budgeting in consultation with the VMI Treasurer, the Director of Facilities Management, and the Deputy Director of Facilities Management for Engineering and Construction.
- Works with the Physical Plant’s Energy Manager and others as needed to develop and implement a Sustainability Plan for the Institute, focusing primarily on the environmental aspects of sustainability.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in project management of design and/or construction, as either an owner’s representative or while working for a design or construction firm.
- Experience in budget management for design or construction projects.
- Awareness and knowledge in the area of master planning for an organization, campus, or military installation.
Additional Considerations
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, or commensurate experience, in a field related to design, construction, or project management.
- Experience in developing a master plan for a campus or military installation.
- Experience in developing and implementing a sustainability plan for an organization.
