SUMMARY: Plans manufacturing schedules and procurement of required materials
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Control
- Review all MRP recommendations and execute as necessary
- Release manufacturing orders to production
- Use capacity planning tools to determine manufacturing load versus capacity and release orders as necessary
- Report capacity status and identify any existing or potential production bottlenecks, via on floor management of production or automated reporting
- Make recommendations for resource requirements – Headcount/overtime
- Work with area supervisors in ensuring priorities are in alignment with customer requirements
- Ensure manufacturing orders and routings support on time delivery goals – Queue times and move times
- Attend all meetings needed to support customer commitments
- Provide operations support
- Work with engineering team to proactively identify critical path items and the scheduling of ETO finished goods
- Material Planning/Forecasting
- Use all available data to analyze historical and current demand trends and provide recommendations for stocking levels and provide additional insight to Buyers for future procurement
- Interpret requirements from customer/sales, stock and other entities against current stocking and production capacity levels; provide recommendations to meet these requirements or identify alternatives based on available information
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the status and location of all Manufacturing Orders that are in process via both automated reporting tools and hands-on management
- Facilitate the implementation of ECN’s that impact existing inventories, supply orders or WIP
- Set order policies, safety stock and forecast levels to support business objectives
- Communicate any supply exceptions affecting customer commitments to CSR’s
- Maintain Records and Reporting
- Support manufacturing in time reporting corrections
- Time entry updates – Batch process
- Periodic audits of item master attributes
- Maintain and update available capacity charts/data
- Maintain and communicate late and potential late customer orders
- Other charts and reports as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university and five year’s direct planning work or ten year’s work in a production control environment using an MRP or ERP. Any MRP or ERP Training Certifications or continuing education units preferred.
- APICS certification preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, MAPICS, internet and e-mail software. Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Access. MRP and AS400 experience are both a plus
