Data Analyst

VRSA has a hybrid work schedule with staff working onsite specific days of each week. New hires will initially work in-house full time.
Currently, we have an employment opportunity for a Data Analyst. This position will serve as a liaison between business users and technical resources while providing advanced technical support for analytics consumers and assisting business users by sharing insights, providing supporting details, making recommendations, and measuring results.
Responsibilities include:
· Translate and summarize data results into written reports, tables, graphs, and charts to convey information to management and staff
· Write SQL or other querying code to extract and manipulate data from database systems and perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies and errors and provide timely resolutions
· Design and implement data management procedures, including cleaning and organizing raw data, writing technical requirements, reviewing new and existing data sources to ensure integrity of data collection and utilization and perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of analytics and metrics
· Utilize business intelligence tools to design, construct, test, and deploy self-service reports and visualizations while ensuring accuracy of data results and analytic methods through testing and validation of underlying report data
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience/Education:
· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, economics, or statistics
· Approximately 3-5 years of related analytical experience
· Experience with statistical concepts, models, procedures and writing technical reports
· Strong SQL or Excel skills, with aptitude for learning other analytics tools
· Experience with a variety of reporting tools like Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects/Business Intelligence
· Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
· Experience with data warehouse principals
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
· Strong analytical skills and critical thinking.
· Ability to interpret and communicate analysis to non-technical end users.
· Ability to work independently as well as under supervisor.
· Knowledge of insurance and risk management concepts is a plus
· Must be highly organized, detail oriented and work well under pressure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $78,000.00 - $93,000.00 per year
