General Description:
Part of the team responsible for the development and maintenance of the mission critical information systems that support the college’s business processes – Student Information System, Faculty Information System, Administrative Information System and all related subsystems.
Duties And Tasks
- Development and support including staff within the CIS group as well as staff and faculty of the College
- Respond promptly to user inquires and/or user requests for services regarding applications and telecommunication connectivity.
- Provide clear and accurate information.
- Communication by either phone, email or in person to help those that need assistance with correcting People Soft data; running SQR report, queries.
- Provide technical support on current programming tools and processes within the IT group.
- Develop queries and provide users with the information they need
- identify customer needs, communicate with them effectively, and follow up to ensure excellent customer service is provided.
- Uses super user access to SIS in order to troubleshoot and research problems for college users in the production system and to test business practices and new applications in the development and test systems
- Completion of interfaces between college information systems
- Create and maintain new complex management information systems that combine data from the College Student Information System and other college data into new systems.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Required KSAs:
- Demonstrated high-level analytical skills involving complex projects that utilize data from multiple sources.
- Ability to complete projects on time and to work with a minimum of supervision and guidance.
- Knowledge of People Soft Student Administration, Oracle SQL and related query tools.
- Ability to work on the PC platform and to use applications software, data structures and utilities, operating systems, and communication interfaces within the computing environment.
- Ability to work independently and determine methodology.
- Skilled ability to be logical and detail oriented from requirement analysis to development and testing to ensure error free product solutions are robust and meet user needs.
- Experience with customer service
- Experience troubleshooting complex data problems in college information systems
- Experience working in a college setting
Additional Considerations
- Experience with the People Soft Student Administration application, familiarity with the Oracle RDMS, proficiency in SQL and SQR.
