Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is committed to hiring and retaining a racially diverse, culturally competent staff at all levels of the organization who reflect the demographics of our students. We also believe in providing an ongoing investment in our faculty and staff to deepen their skills and competencies to serve the full range of our student population.
The primary responsibility is teaching, with faculty loads normally scheduled on an average of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester. Office hours, advising and committee assignment are also expected. Opportunities for summer teaching will be based on student interest.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Information Systems Technology; or Master’s degree with eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Information Systems Technology.
Demonstrated record of IT networking experience in a workplace or academic environment.
Considerable occupational technical experience or teaching experience in one or more college-level disciplines including programming, database management, web design, mobile application programming.
Demonstrated record as an instructor promoting student success in online and/or hybrid classes.
Demonstrated experience advising college students seeking to earn an information technology degree.
Demonstrated experience as a user of a current version of Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated ability to work with a widely diverse faculty, staff and student population.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Additional Considerations
Prior teaching experience in a community college setting is also preferred.
