The candidate will join a team of board-certified anatomic pathologists (currently numbering between five and seven). Duties will include providing diagnostic pathology service (including surgical biopsy and necropsy duty), teaching in the DVM professional program (including virology), training pathology residents (which includes teaching in graduate-level pathology courses and participating in histopathology rounds), and engaging in independent or collaborative research.The necropsy and biopsy services are part of Virginia Tech Animal Laboratory Services (ViTALS), an AAVLD-accredited diagnostic laboratory, whose clients include the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and veterinary clinics in the surrounding region.
