VTTI seeks a qualified, ambitious senior web and mobile application developer who is interested in developing software applications that support the deployment and management of modern mobility solutions. The candidate should be an experienced software developer / engineer capable of working independently and with multidisciplinary teams to improve transportation through cutting-edge research and development of emerging technologies in smart cities, connected vehicles, automated vehicles, and transportation safety applications.
You will work to design, develop, and enhance complex software to support transportation research and deployment projects. This entails undertaking the design, coding, unit testing, and integration testing activities to ensure that each assignment is completed on time and meets the expectations of the user. You will iteratively act in concert with the research teams and sponsors to define project goals and technical specifications; to create/refine project plans and milestones; and to integrate these goals, specifications, and timeline to achieve the overall objective. You will use unit tests and continuous integration (CI) tools to maintain rigorous coding standards.
Candidates are expected to take responsibility for their projects and perform their assignments with minimal supervision. They will receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment. The position may supervise/mentor/train and coordinate the work of technicians, graduate research assistants and others who assist in specific assignments.

Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or comparable with exception for a lesser degree with substantial experience.
- Experience with one or more web and/or mobile application development platforms.
- Must have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently with little supervision.
- Demonstrated experience and interest in achieving good UI/UX design.
- Experience writing software in Kotlin, TypeScript, Dart, C#, and/or Python.
- Experience with React and Typescript or other front-end web technologies.
- Experience with REST APIs, client/server architectures, and server-side technologies.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud Platforms.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience with Android and/or iOS
- Experience with the Flutter cross platform SDK.
- Experience with MQTT, Kafka, Flink, NiFi, and related technologies.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD.
- A strong understanding of functional programming concepts
- Experience with reactive streams and functional reactive programming
