About This Position
Virginia Theatre Festival is seeking a Charge Artist for our Summer 2025 season to support the build, run, and strike of our season’s productions. VTF will produce a three-show summer season. This position reports to the Technical Director.
Qualified candidates will possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, collaborative, and communication skills and the ability to organize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team situation. Pay Rate : $20.00 / hour
Contract Dates : May 27-July 11, 2025
Work Schedule : This position will work 40 hours / week in variable schedules and is eligible for overtime with managerial approval. Day, weekend, and evening hours required.
Housing : We provide housing within walking distance of our theatre for those employed from out of town.
Work Authorization Requirement : US work authorization is required.
Job Duties
- Schedule and manage all paint needs for the season
- Ensure tools and equipment utilized in the shop are in safe working order
- Manage and track shop inventory (including paint, tools, brushes, etc.)
- Work with the Technical Director and Master Carpenter to schedule all aspects of scenic painting and finishing
- Ensure projects are completed on time for the production schedule
