Summary: This position is responsible for quotation solicitation/analysis and purchasing of assigned products for all corporate divisions in accordance with guidelines determined by the Materials Director. Located in Pocatello Idaho on-site.
1. Analyze MRP and prepare purchase orders for order placement.
2. Obtain and distribute material specifications for quotes.
3. Analyze quotations and make recommendations for material changes.
4. Negotiate services and material prices etc.
5. Assure vendor performance.
6. Maintain accurate and up to date vendor history file.
7. Source new vendors and materials.
8. Keep management informed of economic situations to insure cost effectiveness of materials.
9. Inform supervisor of materials price changes.
10. Complete weekly cost reduction sheets.
11. Expedite all assigned orders.
Required:
1. One to Three (1-3) years commercial buying experience in related industry.
2. Keen, aggressive communications (particularly in negotiation) and organizational skills.
3. Established math proficiency.
Preferred:
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Business.
2. Buying experience in transformer or closely – related industry.
