Job Description

The Daily Manufacturing Planner will be responsible for overseeing the daily production schedules and ensuring timely and efficient operations within the manufacturing facility. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across different departments. The ideal candidate will work closely with the production, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure optimal workflow, minimize downtime, and meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for daily manufacturing operations based on customer orders, inventory levels, and available resources.
• Coordination with Teams: Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering departments to align production schedules with capacity and material availability.
• Monitoring and Adjustments: Monitor production progress throughout the day, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to stay on track.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Track key performance metrics, such as production output, downtime, and order fulfillment rates. Provide regular reports to management on daily production performance.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows. Recommend process improvements and contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure that production activities follow safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing planning, production scheduling, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Skills:
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices is a plus.
• Certifications: APICS CPIM certification (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) is a plus but not required.

Working Conditions

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work as required to meet production demands.
• Location: On-site at Virginia Transformer Corp. manufacturing facility in Roanoke.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and may occasionally be required to walk through production areas or warehouses.

Pay: $29.00 per hour
