The Director of Student Marketing and Communication is responsible for designing and executing comprehensive, student-centered marketing and communication strategies that support recruitment, engagement, and retention across all stages of the student journey. This role ensures brand consistency, alignment of messaging, and strategic storytelling that authentically reflects the mission, vision, and values of the university.
Responsibilities
- Align messaging across all digital, print, video, and web platforms with institutional goals and branding.
- Serve as the primary liaison between departments to ensure consistent and compelling communications for student-facing initiatives.
- Lead the creation of targeted marketing strategies for diverse student audiences, including traditional undergraduates, graduate students, transfers, and adult learners.
- Support Student and Academic Affairs with messaging that promotes student progression, retention, and access to support services.
- Develop and manage ambassador expectations, training resources, and communication toolkits.
- Coordinate ambassador participation in campus tours, high school visits, recruitment events, and social media storytelling.
- Ensure all student communications adhere to university brand and messaging guidelines.
- Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and engagement activities.
- Leverage CRM data, email campaign analytics, and social media insights to inform future strategies.
- Deliver regular performance reports to University Relations leadership and cabinet-level stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education marketing, student engagement, or strategic communication roles.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
