Job Description
Virginia Wesleyan University is seeking a dynamic and creative Graduate Assistant to support the Office of Marketing & Communications . This role is ideal for a graduate student with a background in marketing, communications, digital media, or related fields , who is looking to gain hands-on experience while pursuing their master's degree. The selected candidate will play a vital role in developing and implementing social media strategies , creating engaging content, and supporting various marketing initiatives to enhance the university's brand and outreach.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute social media strategies to increase engagement across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, etc.).
- Create synergies between the university's main page, alumni page, and president's social media page.
- Create compelling written, visual, and video content tailored to target audiences.
- Monitor social media analytics, track performance, and optimize strategies for audience growth.
- Assist with content development for email marketing, press releases, website updates, and promotional materials.
- Support the collection, analysis, and interpretation of marketing data and trends to inform decision-making.
- Assist in planning and promoting campus events through digital and traditional marketing channels.
- Other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the department.
