Zoo Ambassador - Seasonal

The Virginia Zoo is looking to welcome new team members to join our Membership department. We are looking for energetic, customer service focused individuals who want to deliver memorable and positive guest experience to the visitors of the Virginia Zoo.

Zoo Ambassadors provide a positive guest experience by greeting visitors while selling admissions tickets, inform visitors of the value and benefits of our membership program, provide outstanding customer service to all Zoo guests and assist with the successful execution of a variety of events at the Zoo.

This is a seasonal part-time, non-exempt role. Weekends & some evenings required.

The Virginia Zoo business hours are from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM, but may be open later for events.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greet and interact with Guests.
• Answer on-site guest questions and resolve guest issues.
• Accurately process monetary transactions and adhere to all cash handling policies.
• Introduce non-members to the Zoo Membership program highlighting benefits and value.
• Process admission tickets, membership enrollments/renewals/Gifts through CRM software.
• Maintain and update membership database ensuring accuracy.
• Provide excellent guest experience by answering incoming phone calls, returning voicemails, and redirecting calls to the proper department when necessary.
• Supports events by staffing check ins, membership sales, and maintaining lines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

• At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds capacity at times.

Additional Requirements

• Must be confident, energetic, and self-motivated with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner.
• Ability to work in a team environment or alone for extended periods of time.
• Able to work indoor and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
