Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with a genuine passion for excellence and a desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company to join our Product Development Engineering Team.

This role will be responsible for supporting our innovation and sustainability engineering products, as well as reviewing changes in builds while making recommendations for design changes. This role will require the electrical design and wiring of products, along with supporting the programming and debugging of our systems while driving improvements to the software. Our ideal candidates are familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests, deployment and through production. Familiarity with the NEC for electrical requirements is also preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Requires the ability to troubleshoot systemic issues, develop, organize, analyze, and present interpretation of results regarding operational issues or Engineering projects, and apply advanced engineering principles to the design and implementation of new or modified system, products and processes.
• Offer production support and troubleshooting assistance to Production Staff, Design / R&D Engineering, and Customer service support during and after hours (after hours as needed)
• Develop and test effective automated and manual systems. Support manufacturing team for process improvements, assess proper tooling, and implement applicable certifications based on customer requirements.
• Develop test plans and test reports for product development and Design verification tests.
• Ensures electrical equipment & components comply with electrical codes, certifications and standards.as required
• Controller (HMI, PLC, Inverter etc.) programming, load, test, and debug
• Electrical Development and Design of implementation for new products
• Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed. Provide technical assessment and validation review/approval for engineering and process changes.
• Creation of Work Instructions and support the Design/R&D teams with optimizing designs for DFM principles. Train staff in new and existing processes.
• Aid in the development of BOM creation and optimize.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering
• Previous 3 years experience as an electrical/electrical applications engineer or similar role
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, Electrical testing equipment, and quality assurance techniques
• Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
• Knowledge of SolidWorks software packages
• Must be able to work independently as well as with teams, organize and manage projects by defining milestones, and meeting schedules
• Assessing and documenting engineering data from testing / validation processes to present to co-workers and upper management
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, engineering design and start-up fundamentals is a plus.
• Knowledge in Power Engineering strongly desired

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Expected travel 20% to 25% for product support / application setup / customer interface

Salary:

• $85-95K, depending on skills and experience
