CANNABIS PACKAGING TECHNICIAN
Viridian Staffing's ( www.viridianstaffing.com ) Client is looking for Temporary Packaging Technicians to help with packaging duties for a cannabis company in the Tacoma, Washington, area. These positions are expected to start on January 25, 2025. For workers who do a great job after a short trial period, there is the potential for this to convert to a permanent position. Two shifts are available : Saturday and Sunday 7 am - 6 pm OR Monday - Friday 12 pm - 11 pm. This posting is for the Weekend shift. As a Packaging Technician, you will help to measure cannabis products, package the product, and then label the product accordingly. You may also get to help collect samples and perform tests to ensure quality. You may perform a variety of other processing tasks as needed. While experience packaging cannabis is not required, you should have experience adhering to strict health and safety policies and procedures. Attention to detail even in a fast-paced environment and the ability to closely follow standard operating procedures is required. You should also have the ability to sit, stand, twist, AND kneel for up to 10 hours at a time. Requirements :
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Washington State Food Handlers Card
- 6 months of experience in a production and / or packaging environment
- Eligible to work for a licensed Cannabis company in the State of Washington
- Willingness to comply with OSHA regulations
- Basic Computer Skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel AND twist up to 10 hours
- Ability to work in a GMP environment, which includes but is not limited to wearing required PPE
- Ability to work on your feet and lift, carry, & balance up to 50 pounds, along with handling hazardous materials - You must be able to do all this safely and with extreme care and caution.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time, frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and will be frequently required to perform repetitive motion tasks.
- English language speaking skills, both verbally and written, are required, along with basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud and the temperature may fluctuate between hot and cold frequently.
- Ability to be in an environment where Cannabis is present and touch / feel products containing cannabis.
Pay Rate : $20 / hour
