Viridian Staffing’s Client is looking for an experienced Retail Leader to act as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of their Cannabis brand in the Newark, New Jersey, area. This position does require being able to work on-site, so you must be within a reasonable commute of the facility, and working nights and weekends. Some travel may be necessary to other industry events, supplier meetings, or other dispensary locations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with the other members of the executive team to oversee all day to day operations including but not limited to HR, vendors, marketing, sales, operations, systems, etc. You're known for your ability to run an efficient business with attention to managing expenses and financial targets for growth, while still focusing on operational continuous improvement. You are an inspirational people manager, and previous direct reports would consider you a servant leader who they would be excited to work with again. You will be able to develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implement the business strategies and plans developed by the CEO. You are excited about the ability to drive the strategic traditional and digital sales and marketing initiatives of the company. Utilizing your exceptional analytical skills, you use data in order to identify and implement key strategies, determine which sales and marketing channels to invest in, and measure the effectiveness of programs. You are also agile and can help the organization pivot quickly. As an experienced Retail Leader, you have built, onboarded, and developed teams known for their exceptional performance in the past. This is a roll up your sleeves opportunity, so you should be comfortable with doing everything from developing strategies to working the front of house when necessary. You are customer obsessed and understand the importance of maintaining the company's reputation and relationships with all stakeholders.
You bring with you a bachelor's degree or higher in business, operations management or similar degree and 3 years of professional retail management experience, at least 1 years managing a retail store and at least 1 years of experience working in retail in the Cannabis industry (preferably in the New Jersey market). You have experience managing vendor relationships and should have a history of creative approaches to helping organizations achieve desired revenue targets. You have experience in developing successful sales strategies, channel / trade marketing and have been responsible for helping to oversee loyalty programs. This position does require having the ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally, being able to stand for extended periods of time and move around the dispensary, including walking, climbing stairs, and sweeping / cleaning.
Compensation : $100,000-$110,000
