Reporting to the Associate Director, Accounting and SEC Reporting, the Accounting Manager will be an integral part of the monthly close process, ensuring the timely preparation of monthly financial statements, as well as supporting annual audits and quarterly reviews and effective internal controls. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in supporting the finance team and a growing organization, collaborating closely with colleagues throughout the Company.
This role is based in our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Lead the month end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses
- Work closely with various members of the R&D organization and other functions within the company in the preparation and review of various accruals
- Ensure proper documentation for all accounting activities
- Collaborate with FPA and other members of the accounting department in the preparation of the internal reporting package, including fluctuation analysis and other reports
- Participate in annual audits and quarterly reviews. Build relationship with external and internal auditors and provide support for audits, managing timelines and deliverables
- Assist with support for quarterly tax provision requests and R&D tax credit calculations
- Provide support for various SEC reporting requirements, including preparation of 10-Q and 10-K footnotes and support
- Assist in managing the SOX compliance program, ensuring appropriate documentation and identifying areas of improvement for SOX compliance processes
- Contribute to various ad-hoc projects, including commercial activity preparation, technology improvements and other cross-functional projects
- Collaborate with other team members to establish best practices and add efficiencies to the close processes
- Promote a culture of collaboration, efficiency and continuous improvement within the accounting team
