What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Director/Director, Scientific Communications position at Viridian Therapeutics, Inc?

Leveraging our team’s expertise in antibody discovery and engineering, we have created a robust pipeline of differentiated investigational therapeutic candidates for well-validated targets.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Medical Affairs, the AD/Director, Scientific Communications will partner with key colleagues to develop, lead, and execute scientific communications strategies and tactics for Viridian’s assets. This role will drive development and updates to scientific communication platforms and publication plans, manage the development of high-quality scientific publications (abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts), contribute to medical writing tasks, and manage external medical writers as needed.
This role is hybrid role (at least 3 days onsite) based in Waltham, MA.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Lead cross-functional team to develop & update Scientific Communication Platforms for Viridian’s assets
- Research medical conference timelines, guidelines, etc and lead cross-functional planning team to develop comprehensive publication plans for Viridian’s assets
- Provide oversight, project management, and in some cases medical writing support for scientific publication projects (ie, clinical manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations), ensuring accuracy and adherence to agreed upon timelines
- Provide direction and guidance to external medical writers regarding assigned projects ensuring a high-quality and timely work product, and adherence to Publication Policy and associated Procedures
- Ensure necessary infrastructure, policies, and standard operating procedures are in place to successfully execute all Scientific Communications tactics
- Effectively manage budget and internal resource needs to execute publication plans on time and with high quality
- Provide support for cross-functional projects as needed
- Recommend, lead, and implement tactical process improvements
- Responsible for compliance with all applicable Corporate Policies and procedures
