PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To ensure product shipped to the customer meets or exceeds the customers' requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately performs visual inspection on all assemblies for workmanship, dimensional check, tolerances and usability.
- Reads and comprehends documentation relating to phases of production: customer supplied blueprints, parts lists.
- Records all inspection results onto an inspection report. Keeps accurate, and detailed records.
- Understands all production processes which relate to inspection, can use good judgment and discretion in determining acceptable standards.
- Reports any errors or major discrepancies to the group leader immediately so immediate corrective action may be taken.
- Responsible for compliance to Virtex’s Quality Management System and other regulatory and statutory requirements as required by the customer.
- Accountable for accepting responsibility for continuous on the job training by actively participating in training put on by designated Virtex employees and/or any outside service.
- Actively participates in quality efforts and support the Virtex Quality Policy through accountable action.
- Contributes to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures, reporting any safety concerns, and participate in any scheduled stretch breaks.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) preferred, or 6 plus months related work experience
- Inspection of electronic assembly helpful, some inspection experience preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or green card is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents such as standard operation procedures, blueprints, and other related documents.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Basic data entry skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift, push and pull 10 to 45 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Must have good eyesight, as well as the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.
- Flexibility to work extra hours when needed, including weekends.
