Job Overview
As the Supply Chain Manager in the high-tech manufacturing industry, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, master scheduling, logistics and customer service and order entry.
This role involves optimizing the supply chain operations to maximize efficiency and minimize costs while ensuring high-quality standards and on-time delivery. You will be collaborating closely with the domestic and international suppliers, production teams, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to streamline processes and meet business objectives.
Responsibilities
Procurement :
Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials from MRP input or other inventory guidelines to support all current customer sales orders, forecast and production requirements.
Maintain relationships with suppliers and share forecasts as required while continually looking for cost-saving negotiations and opportunities, new sourcing, and ensuring high quality materials and components.
Support new product introduction (NPI) materials and component requirements and coordinate with engineering and other stakeholders delivering Printed circuit boards, fabricated parts, or components.
Manage all miscellaneous procurements such as supplies, packaging, incidentals and departmental NRE and CAPEX requirements.
Planning :
Develop, maintain, and input high level Master Schedules in the ERP system based on current backlog sales orders, customer forecast and inventory strategies that drive MRP for Materials procurement and support of production schedules.
Manage running the weekly or as required MRP and analyze the overall requirements and to determine best procurement strategy for the team as required.
Develop multi-plant capacity and production loading plans based on customer and other requirements and align the required sales orders.
Manage inventory levels based on the company guidelines and report status regularly for review and analysis including obsolescence, strategic procurement, and other requirements.
Customer service and order Entry :
Manage the order entry function and ensure all customer purchaser orders are entered into the ERP system with proper requirements, product pricing, Lead time, misc. requirements and acknowledgements forwarded to the customer.
Ensure timely response to the customer schedule changes, and other inquires as required.
Logistics :
Coordinate and negotiate logistics carriers for both inbound and outbound products and other shipments requirements. Perform quarterly review and approve carrier invoices.
Ensure all sales orders shipment requirements in the sales orders are per customer or suppliers adhere to purchase orders.
Qualifications & Requirements :
BA / BS degree in the field of materials management or related or equivalent experience
10 years’ experience including 5 years of management of supply chain functions such as strategic sourcing, planning, and logistics in a high-tech industry.
Extensive global sourcing leadership experience building and engaging global suppliers especially in the field of electronics industry.
Direct experience with ERP and MRP systems from masters scheduling to procurement requirements. (Experience with Net Suite is a Plus)
Outstanding negotiation skills in executive supplier management
Excellent communications skills working with engineering, finance, business units, and other supply chain functions.
Direct knowledge of Excel Pivot tables, macros and analytical skills and high degree of integrity, initiative, and attention to details
Technical certifications such as an APICS certification preferred.
