Summary:
Accurately maintains medical record files, via adherence to all policies and procedures regarding storage and retrieval, chart usage, and sign out.
Position Responsibilities:
• Accurately assembles and analyzes closed medical records.
• Responsible for storage and retrieval of medical records and reports as requested for patient care, departmental processing, committee review, correspondence and other types of authorized reviews.
• Processes loose/late reports.
• Answers telephone requests for records, discharge dates, and copies of death certificates.
Required Education:
High School diploma or GED.
