Full time 7p-7a 36 hour a week - every other weekend rotation
Job Summary:
Responsible for the direct supervision of the Medical Transport department Emergency Medical Technicians and operations. Assures that resources are operating in a safe and efficient manner and providing the highest level of customer service. Interacts with department staff and other Virtua Health representatives to assure outstanding service. Acts as the on-duty supervisory resource for the medical transport department. Assists the Director of Medical Transport in setting strategy and building efficiencies.
Position Responsibilities:
Assures efficient and appropriate response to requests for medical transport through direct and indirect supervision.
Conducts quality review, scheduling, analytics and complaints. Assists with effective implementation and adherence to the policies and performance standards of both the Department and throughout Virtua.
Manages daily medical transport schedule and efficient staffing ratios.
Provides direct oversight for Medical Transport EMTs.
Assists with vehicle and equipment maintenance issues including but not limited to rotation of vehicles for routine maintenance, bringing radio equipment to repair, expiration checks, inventory, minor repairs, and IS issues.
Functions in the role of Emergency Medical Technician as required.
Position Qualifications Required:
Required Experience:
At least two years’ experience in EMS/911/Medical Transport experience required. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of local EMS and medical transport systems and EMS communications.
Required Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Graduate of a recognized Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Training Program
Associates degree preferred
Training / Certification / Licensure:
Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic by the Commissioner of Health & Senior Services of the State of New Jersey.
Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to the professional rescuer level.
Must have a valid Driver’s license recognized by the State of New Jersey and driving
record must meet insurance company standards/requirements.
