Position Responsibilities
Performs patient assessment and provides appropriate treatment according to established protocols and medical command during all patient transports.
Functions as the crew leader on a multi-disciplinary care team.
Accurately and completely documents patient assessment, treatment, response to treatment and transfer of care upon completion of every incident. Accurately and efficiently responds to all quality assurance requests.
Effectively manages rapidly changing situations and demonstrates standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
Maintains all Virtua owned equipment and property in a safe, clean and secure manner.
Performs vehicle and equipment check at the start of each shift. Ensures that the SCTU is ready for service at all times.
Position Qualifications Required:
Required Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience as an SCTU RN.
Minimum 1 year experience as a nurse working full-time within the Emergency Department or a Critical Care Unit, 2 years preferred. Strong critical thinking skills required with the ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team during delivery of patient care.
Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.
Training / Certification / Licensure:
ACLS, PALS, CPR and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certifications required. CCRN or CEN certification preferred. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Valid driver’s license.
